RFID, CMMS and DataSplice
Radio frequency identification, or RFID is a method of remotely storing and retrieving data using devices called RFID tags. An RFID tag is a small object, such as an adhesive sticker that can be attached an item in your inventory. RFID tags contain antennae to enable them to receive and respond to radio-frequency queries from an RFID transceiver.
That's where DataSplice comes in. Utilizing a handheld with an RFID tranceiver, DataSplice is now able to parce that information into your CMMS. Because of the unique configurablity of the DataSplice Suite, information that is programmed into the tag can be quickly read by your CMMS database.
