Configuring the Button Helper Utility

This application facilitates the binding of DataSplice actions to the hot keys on Pocket PC. This application takes command line parameters (such as ButtonHelper.exe file by browsing to it in File Explorer and tapping it. If you installed DataSplice on the mobile device using Windmill, the file will automatically be executed./newRecord) and posts the appropriate message to the running instance of DataSplice. This means that shortcuts can be made that perform the specified action, which in turn can be bound to device hot keys in the Control Panel. To set up hot keys for DataSplice actions, perform the following steps:
- On the Pocket PC device, click Start > Settings.
- On the Personal tab, click the Buttons icon.
- In the Button column, select which button you would like to map an action to.
- In the Button assignment selection dropdown list, pick the action you want to associate with the selected button. The DataSplice actions will begin with
DataSplice -. For example, to assign the DataSplice Search function to a button, you would selectDataSplice - Searchfrom the dropdown list. - Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the other buttons you wish to set. Click OK in the upper right corner when you are finished.
