Running the Plug-in Installation Setup Wizard
The DataSplice .NET integration plug-in installation should be performed on the same server machine that the DataSplice Server is installed on. This may or may not be the same computer that the Maximo server is running on.
If you do not already have the DSMaximoPlugin.msi file, you will need to obtain it before you can begin the installation of the plug-in. It should be available for download on your customer download page when you log in to http://www.datasplice.com.
Launching the Setup Wizard
To begin installing the DataSplice .NET integration plug-in, launch the DSMaximoPlugin.msi file. Allow some time for the setup wizard to open, as it first must perform some system information verification. Click Next to continue with the installation process. If, at any time, you wish to cancel the installation, click the Cancel button. When available throughout the process, you can also click the Back button to return to the previous setup wizard screen.
Selecting the Plug-in Modules to Install
Select which modules to install by checking the associated checkbox next to module name. This will install the business logic needed for each module, as well as include a basic set of DataSplice views configured to provide access to mobile devices. At least one module must be selected. Click Next to continue.
Choosing the Installation Folder
The installation folder for the .NET integration plug-in should be the same folder where DataSplice was installed. By default, this location is C:\Program Files\DataSplice. If DataSplice was installed in a different location, click the Browse button and select the location where it was installed. Clicking the Disk Cost button opens a dialog box that shows the available disk storage space alongside the space required for the installation of the plug-in. Select Everyone (recommended) or Just me to specify whether the plug-in installation should be made available to all users on this computer or only yourself. Click Next to continue.
Confirming the Installation
After specifying the target installation folder, the Confirm Installation dialog box opens. Click Next to continue.
During the installation process, a progress window displays the current progress of the installation.
An informational screen will be displayed, describing the process of running the plug-in configurator. Click Next to continue.
As the next window describes, the setup wizard is now complete. Click Close to exit the setup wizard. The next step is to run the plug-in configurator.
