Server Status

To display general information about the current server status, select DataSplice Suite from the item selection area on the left side of the screen.

Server Status

General information is presented about the current instance of DataSplice. This includes the server version, license key, start time of the DataSplice Server, and an administrator email contact.

The bottom section of this screen displays the current sessions, connected clients, and the status of the worker threads.

Current Sessions

This displays all users, including the administrator, that currently have an active session on the DataSplice Server. This does not necessarily mean that they are currently connected to the DataSplice Server. A user's entry can be expanded to reveal additional information by clicking the plus sign next to the user's name.

Current Sessions

Property Name Description
Session Type Whether this user's session is online or offline.
Idle Duration The time, in minutes and seconds, that the user has not interacted with the Remote Client session.
Current Licenses The license groups being consumed by this user's session.
Postponed Modifications When this entry is present, there are outstanding record modifications that produced an error when saved. This entry can be expanded by clicking the plus sign, therein exposing the actual pending record modifications.
Note: The record modification can be resolved either by the user on the Remote Client or by an administrator right here in the Administration Client.

Postponed Modifications

Postponed modifications refer to record changes that have been attempted to be saved by a user but an error resulted. Giving users the ability to postpone their record modifications allows them to continue working even in the event of an error. This helps to prevent loss of productivity in the event of an error.

In order for the record modification postponement feature to be enabled, a few attributes must be set:

  • Allow Error Postponement - Enables the modification postponement feature. This attribute must be set to true or 1 for any of the other related attributes to function.
  • Auto Postpone Errors - When set to true or 1, all errors that users receive while attempting to commit record changes are sent to the DataSplice Server without explicitly notifying the user.

To resolve a postponed modification from within the Administration Client:

  1. Identify the user with the postponed modifications by looking for the notification icon next to the user's name:

    Postponed Modification Notification Icon

  2. Expand the record modification details by clicking the plus sign:
  3. Double-click the postponed modification in the list:

    Postponed Modification Selected

  4. A dialog box will be displayed, showing the pending record modification.

    Postponed Modification Dialog

  5. The dialog box contains three buttons, each representing a possible course of action.
    • Retry - This allows for appropriate changes to be made to field(s) in the record, after which the record will be committed to the system.
    • Reset - Disregards the pending modifications and rolls the record back to its previously-saved state.
    • Cancel - Does not take action on this modification, and closes the dialog box. The postponed modification will continue to be displayed in the list until it is resolved.
