View Permissions
When users log in to the DataSplice Remote Client, they are presented with a list of available views. In order for views to be available in the Remote Client, view permissions must be granted accordingly to the desired group(s) in the Administration Client. The assignment of view permissions is handled on the User and Group Editor screen by selecting View Permissions from the Configuration Section drop-down list.
Assigning Permissions
As described in the licensing section, views are tied to particular product licenses. Thus, it is necessary to enable permissions to the product before the contained views can be made available. The different products show up in the Product Permissions section. The views they contain are displayed in the View Permissions section.
- From the main navigation menu in the Administration Client, select Edit Users and Groups.
- Select the domain of interest from the Domain drop-down.
- Select the group of interest from the item selection area on the left side.
- Select View Permissions from the Configuration Section drop-down.
- Place a check next to each of the desired products. As the products are checked, the views they contain are displayed in the View Permissions section below.
- Place a check next to each of the desired views.
- Click the Save Changes button

Revoking Permissions
If it ever becomes necessary to revoke view permissions from a group, it can be accomplished quite easily.
- From the main navigation menu in the Administration Client, select Edit Users and Groups.
- Select the domain of interest from the Domain drop-down.
- Select the group of interest from the item selection area on the left side.
- Select View Permissions from the Configuration Section drop-down.
- Uncheck the product(s) from the Product Permissions section to be removed from this group's available list.
- Uncheck the view(s) from the View Permissions section to be removed from this group's available list.
- Click the Save Changes button

Assigning Permissions with the MAXIMO® Integration Plug-in 2.x
When using the MAXIMO® 5.x integration plug-in version 2.x, view permissions should generally be defined in the appropriate MAXIMO® groups in the MAXIMO domain. These groups should be visible once the external authentication domain has been correctly set up to reference the existing MAXIMO® domain.
- From the main navigation menu in the Administration Client, select Edit Users and Groups.
- From the Domain drop-down, select the domain entry that references the existing MAXIMO® domain, such as MAXIMO.
- Select the group of interest, such as DEFLT, from the item selection area on the left side.
- Select View Permissions from the Configuration Section drop-down.
- Select the desired product(s) in the Product Permissions section.
- Select the desired view(s) in the View Permissions section.
- Click the Save Changes button

Assigning Permissions with the MAXIMO® Integration Plug-in 4.x
When using the MAXIMO® 5.x/6.x integration plug-in version 4.x, a number of MAXIMO® groups are provided by the plug-in inside the DataSplice domain. These groups are the ideal place to assign view permissions when using this plug-in. These groups should be visible once the external authentication domain has been correctly set up to reference the existing MAXIMO® domain.
- From the main navigation menu in the Administration Client, select Edit Users and Groups.
- Select DataSplice from the Domain drop-down.
- Select the group of interest, such as MAXIMO, from the item selection area on the left side.
- Select View Permissions from the Configuration Section drop-down.
- Select the desired product(s) in the Product Permissions section.
- Select the desired view(s) in the View Permissions section.
- Click the Save Changes button
