Plug-in Installation on Mobile Devices
Printing actions can be configured in one of two ways - server-side and client-side actions. An installation of DataSplice can utilize either one of these methods, or both. Server-side actions refer to those printing actions that are initiated by the DataSplice Server as a result of certain defined actions. For example, a print job can be automatically initiated every time an item is issued. Client-side actions, on the other hand, refer to printing actions that are explicitly initiated by the user on the Remote Client. An example of this is if the user should be able to search inventory items, locate one of interest, and initiate a print job of a desired quantity of barcode labels for that item. Client-side printing actions are often used with Bluetooth or serial printers, which are not on the existing network.
With the aforementioned information in mind, the DataSplice barcode printing plug-in client-side files can be installed using one of two methods.
