Running the DataSplice Installer
The DataSplice installer steps through the installation of each component of the DataSplice Mobile Integration Suite. Before commencing with the installation process, close any open programs and ensure that any anti-virus software is disabled. Locate and run the DataSplice Suite 3.0.127 installer.exe installation file. In most cases, this file is obtained from the downloads page of the specific customer when logged in on http://www.datasplice.com.
After running the DataSplice Suite 3.0.127 installer.exe file, the installer will open and the Installation Folder screen will be displayed. The default destination folder is C:\Program Files\DataSplice3\. You may accept this as the installation directory or choose a different location by either typing it directly into the text field or by clicking the Browse button. After selecting the Destination Folder, click the Next button to select the components to install. At any time during this process, click the Cancel button to abort the installation.
Selecting the Components to Install
The next screen in the setup wizard provides the ability to select which components to install. The following components are available:
- Administration Client - Provides the interface for administrators to connect to the DataSplice Server.
- Remote Client - Allows for valid users to log in and connect to the DataSplice Server instance.
- DataSplice Server - Installs the main server component for DataSplice.
- Windows CE Clients - Enables the files required for mobile device installation. This is required if the Remote Client will be manually installed onto mobile devices.
The installer has three different types of installations:
- DataSplice 3.0 Clients Only - Recommended for client workstations.
- DataSplice 3.0 Full Install - Installs all components and should be selected for the workstation running the DataSplice server.
- Custom - The user selects specific components to be installed.
Depending on the selected installation type, different components are installed. The table below diagrams the different installation types and the components installed for each type.

After selecting the installation type, click the Install button at the bottom of the window to install the selected components.
Completing the Installation
During the installation process, the progress bar be displayed and will show Completed when the installation is done. The Close button will become highlighted after the installation. Select the Close button to exit the installer.
For detailed information about the installation, select the Details button and a detailed list will display.
