Connecting with the Administration Client
To configure the DataSplice instance, the Administration Client needs to be launched to connect to the DataSplice Server.
To connect to the DataSplice Server with the Administration Client:
- Click Start > Programs > DataSplice 3.0 > Administration Client.
- The Connect to DataSplice Server dialog box will be displayed:
- Enter the default initial user name of
admin. - Enter the default initial password of
changethis. - Select the correct domain for this user. By default, this will be the
DataSplicedomain. - Enter the correct server address (if this is the same computer that the DataSplice Server is running on, this can be either
127.0.0.1orlocalhost). - Click Connect.
- Upon initial login, the Change Password dialog box will be displayed.
- Enter the existing password,
changethis. - Enter and confirm a new password for the administrator.
- Click Change.
The Administration Client contains many features. All of the configuration of the DataSplice Server is completed from within the Administration Client. Before anything else can occur, a few initial tasks must be completed in the Administration Client. These include providing a valid server license, setting up a connection profile, and accessing existing external domains. These tasks, and more, are explained in detail in the Administration Client manual.
