Equipment
Description
Equipment is a view designed to provide an efficient means of displaying, inserting, and updating equipment records.
Fields
Below is a listing of the fields included in this view.
| Field Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Equipment | The unique identifier for a piece of equipment in the system. |
| Description | Description of the piece of equipment in question. |
| Manufacturer | Manufacturer of the piece of equipment in question. |
| Vendor | Vendor where the piece of equipment was purchased. |
| Location | The location of the piece of equipment in question. |
| Parent | The parent of the piece of equipment in question.. |
| Serial Number | The serial number of the piece of equipment in question. |
| Asset Number | The asset number of the piece of equipment in question. |
| Failure Code | The failure code of the piece of equipment in question. |
| Install Date | The date this piece of equipment was installed |
| Warranty Expiration Date | The date the warranty will expire. |
| GLAccount | The general ledger account associated with this piece of equipment. |
| Classification | Classification of this piece of equipment. |
Using the View
Equipment View List
To access the Equipment screen, double tap on the name with the stylus, or select the name and hit the Enter key.
Searching for Records
The Equipment screen initially displays a pre-defined filter for record searches. Key in, or scan, the desired values to search on, then hit the Enter key.
Display Modes
Optionally, you can tap on either of the display mode toolbar buttons:
- Display the results in grid mode.
- Display the results in single record mode.

Updating Equipment Records
There are four editable fields on this screen:
- Description
- Serial Number
- Asset Number
- Failure Code
You can key in or scan any combination of alpha-numeric text into the value cells for these fields.
Associated Navigation Options
- Search by Equipment or Description - Allows the user to search for a piece of equipment.
- View Equipment Specifications - A link to a view that displays the associated equipment specifications.
- View Long Descriptions - A link to a view that allows the user to enter an associated long description for the equipment.
- View Meter Readings - A link to a view that allows the user to view meters associated with this equipment and enter measurement values.
- View Spare Parts - A link to a view that allows the user to view equipment and its associated spare parts in inventory.
