Search Inventory
Description
Search Inventory is a read-only view designed to provide an efficient means of displaying items in the system and their associated details.
Fields
Below is a listing of the fields included in this view.
| Field Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Item | The unique identifier for a piece of inventory in the system. |
| Description | Description of the item in question. |
| Current Balance | The current balance since the last reconciliation. |
| Category | Type of the item. |
| Reorder Point | The lowest acceptable balance before a reorder is required. |
| Safety Stock | Is the minimum number of the item that you must have on hand at all times. |
| Issue Unit | The unit of measure used for this item. |
| Vendor | Name of the supplier the item was purchased from. |
| Catalog Code | Catalog code. |
| Model Number | The model identifier of this item. |
| Manufacturer | Manufacturer of this item. |
| Storeroom | Physical storeroom where the item is located. |
| Bin | Physical bin where the item is located. |
| Default Bin | Default bin where the item resides. |
| Lot | Physical lot where the item is located. |
Using the View
Inventory View List
To access the Search Inventory screen, double tap on the name with the stylus, or select the name and hit the Enter key.
Searching for Records
The Search Inventory screen initially displays a pre-defined filter for previous issue searches based on Item and Work Order. Key in, or scan, the desired values to search on, then hit the Enter key.
Display Modes
Optionally, you can tap on either of the display mode toolbar buttons:
- Display results in data grid mode.
- Display results in single record mode.

Editing Fields
There are no editable fields on this screen.
Associated Navigation Options
- Count Item - Allows for the selected inventory item to be spot counted. See the explanation of the Physical Counts view for more details.
- Issue Item - Allows for the selected inventory item to be issued. See the explanation of the Issue of Material view for more details.
- Return Item - Allows for the selected inventory item to be returned. See the explanation of the Return of Material view for more details.
- Transfer Item - Allows for the selected inventory item to be transferred. See the explanation of the Inventory Transfer view for more details.
- View Long Description - Allows for the selected inventory item to have a long description appended to any existing description.
- Where Used - Allows for the selected inventory to be viewed as a spare part of a piece of equipment.
