Equipment (5.x) / Assets (6.x)

Description

Equipment (5.x) or Assets (6.x) is a view designed to provide an efficient means of displaying, inserting, and updating equipment/asset records.

Fields

Below is a listing of the fields included in this view.

Field Name Description
Equipment/Asset Number The unique identifier for a piece of equipment in the system.
Description Description of the piece of equipment in question.
Parent The parent of the piece of equipment in question.
Location The location of the piece of equipment in question.
Bin Bin location of asset, if located in a storeroom.
Failure Code The failure code of the piece of equipment in question.
Priority The priority level of the asset.
Item Corresponding item number if asset is a rotating spare.
Serial Number The serial number of the piece of equipment in question.
Asset Tag The asset number of the piece of equipment in question.
Vendor Vendor where the piece of equipment was purchased.
Manufacturer Manufacturer of the piece of equipment in question.
Install Date The date this piece of equipment was installed.
Warranty Expiration Date The date the warranty will expire.
GLAccount The general ledger account associated with this piece of equipment.

Using the View

Equipment/Assets View List

To access the Equipment/Assets screen, double tap on the name with the stylus, or select the name and hit the "Enter" key.

Searching for Records

The Equipment/Assets screen initially displays a predefined filter for record searches. Key in, or scan, the desired values to search on then hit the "Enter" key.

Display Modes

Optionally, you can tap on either of the display mode toolbar buttons:

  • Display Data Grid Icon - Display the results in grid mode.
  • Display Single Record Mode Icon - Display the results in single record mode.

Updating Records

There are five editable fields on this screen:

  1. Description
  2. Serial Number
  3. Asset Tag
  4. Failure Code
  5. Priority

You can key in or scan any combination of alpha-numeric text into the value cells for these fields.

Inserting Records

To insert a new record, click on the "Create New Record" button .

The new record is created and displayed in red.

Enter the desired values for the new asset record into the corresponding fields. A symbol in the right corner of a field signifies there is a value list available for that field.

Equipment/Assets View Navigation

  • Default Search - Allows the user to search for a piece of equipment.
  • Meter Readings - A link to a view that allows the user to view meters associated with this equipment and enter measurement values.
  • Equipment/Asset Specifications - A link to a view that displays the associated equipment specifications.
  • View Long Descriptions - A link to a view that allows the user to enter an associated long description for the equipment.
  • View Measurement Points - A link to a view that allows the user to view measure points associated with this equipment and enter measurement values.
  • View Spare Parts - A link to a view that allows the user to view Equipment and its associated spare parts in inventory.
  • View Work History - A link to a view that allows the user to view Equipment work history.

Note: Navigation links are based on user permissions. Some of the links may not appear on your screen.
