Purpose

This manual is designed as a guide for the process of upgrading the DataSplice software suite from a previous 3.0.x build to the most current one. This includes special considerations and instructional steps.

While the information in this guide is valid for most existing installations, if a considerably older version of DataSplice is in place, it may be necessary to obtain special conversion utilities or solutions to complete a successful upgrade. Additionally, the upgrade steps in this manual are not valid if attempting to upgrade to DataSplice 3.0.x from a previous 2.3.x version. In such cases, please contact support@datasplice.com for additional assistance.

Audience

This manual is intended for DataSplice administrators to provide assistance during the upgrade process.

Assumptions

This document assumes that a local installation of the Windmill Server is in place, and that the directory structure on that server follows the default layout. In addition, it is assumed that other DataSplice components, such as integration plug-ins, may be in place. Where noted, perform the additional steps to upgrade those components. If no such components are being used on the system in question, the corresponding steps may be disregarded.
