Increasing the maximum number of records fetched can help resolve RunawayQueryError error messages.  Other solutions to these errors can include optimizing the base select or offline query, to reduce the number of records returned, as well as defining missing attributes.

When adjusting this value, it is best practice to only increase it by 5 or 10 thousand at a time.  If you find yourself more than doubling the original value, then it indicates that a query needs to be optimized to return fewer records.

Setting the MaxFetchCount value too high can adversely impact the DataSplice server.  As such, any changes should be tested in non-production environments first.

Changing MaxFetchCount

  1. Login to the Admin Client and locate the DbPlugin item in the server settings
  2. Find the MaxFetchCount value near the top of the screen
  3. Change the value to something higher, per the recommendations above
  4. Save changes and test the new settings
