This error message can occur when a user is logging into the DataSplice client on a handheld device.  There is one explanation for it.


Causes and Fixes

  • The handheld computer does not have a fully established connection to Windows Mobile Device Center on the host PC.

    • Test: Is there a Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) screen on the PC that look like the one below?
      • Fix: Click  'Connect without setting up device' from within the Windows Mobile Device Center window, as pictured below  This allows the PC to fully pass through its network connection, and then you should be able to login to the DataSplice server normally.
