System Requirements

The following information details the system requirements for the Windmill Client application.

Supported Operating Systems
Processor Requirements
  • 300 MHz (400 MHz or faster recommended)
Memory Requirements
  • 32 MB ROM (64 MB or more recommended)
  • 64 MB RAM (128 MB or more recommended)
Available Storage Requirements
  • 5 MB (including SQL CE data engine 1; non-volatile storage media recommended 2)
Additional Requirements
  • Active Internet connection
Supported Networks
  • TCP/IP networks (Ethernet, 802.11x, CDPD, etc.) with connectivity to the Internet
  • ActiveSync connection (USB, serial, etc.) with pass-through connectivity enabled on the host machine 3

1 This value is highly dependent on many factors; primarily, the size of the offline data set in use.

2 Non-volatile storage media is not required, but is highly recommended. When installing on non-volatile storage, the DataSplice files are retained even in the event that the device loses all battery power or otherwise gets reset. If the files are not installed on non-volatile storage, they will be lost in such an event.

3 In this scenario, the host machine must have an active Internet connection.
