Starting in Google Chrome version 47, in order to access device accessories such as camera a microphone, web pages must be using HTTPS technology to provide a secure connection. This security rule will be expanded in Google Chrome version 50 to include access to GPS.
To create a simple self-signed certificate to use with DataSplice, please follow instructions for "Enabling HTTPS With A Self-Signed SSL Certificate" located near the bottom of this page: http://docs.datasplice.com/display/DOC/Server+Installation
If possible, we recommend using a verified SSL certificate provider. HTTPS security can also be accomplished by using a proxy or network device that can extend HTTPS security to DataSplice connections.
